Basic-Fit – Legal Counsel (German speaking)

As Legal Counsel Germany, you will act as a trusted legal business partner to the German and Austrian operations and support a broad range of legal matters arising from the company’s ongoing expansion activities. The main focus will be on commercial contracting and real estate matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

• drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements;
• advising the business on general contract law matters and day-to-day legal issues;
• supporting real estate transactions, lease negotiations, lease renewals and landlord discussions relating to existing and new fitness clubs;
• assisting with acquisitions, integrations and other expansion projects in Germany and Austria;
• coordinating and managing external counsel where required;
• providing legal guidance on franchise-related matters, such as contracting, claims and litigation;
• work on claims, liability matters and consumer law for the German and Austrian operations;

• a completed German or Austrian law degree
• approximately 4 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, gained either in private practice and/or as an in-house legal counsel
• strong background in commercial contracts and general business law
• additional experience with real estate law, M&A and/or franchise law is a plus, but not required
• experience in an international and commercially driven environment is a plus
• pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
• able to work independently while simultaneously being a collaborative team player
• flexible and comfortable operating in a fast-paced business environment
